The Area Manager is responsible for leading the successful execution of the sales management strategy for the acquisition of new business loan and deposit relationships and the active management of a portfolio of those businesses with annual revenues of up to $7.5 million.
Responsible for hiring, training and coaching a team of lenders that meet individual and group loan and deposit production goals. Includes the development of calling strategies and identifying execution opportunities via joint calling and inspection
Utilize strong credit skills to guide the team in recommending appropriate credit structures, pricing and loan products to customers; effectively convey credit-related information to underwriting partners necessary to support quality loan production
Facilitate the partnership between lenders and the Underwriting team; identify opportunities for credit process and product improvements and recommend solutions and participating in the development of new strategies and services or modifications to existing practices
Manage sales and service processes and inspect contact management system entries to ensure call programs are established and executed necessary to promote the Bank’s growth and retention of business products and services
Manage the financial performance of the Oklahoma Business Express sales unit, from understanding analytics around loan and deposit pricing to ensuring new production is added profitably to managing expenses and identifying pricing solutions for small business products
Foster the cross sell of bank products, actively working with BRMs on preparing and presenting comprehensive sales proposals and presentations to customers and prospects
Utilize strong analytical skills to consistently review and evaluate market-level performance trends and gaps, recommending changes to strategy when applicable to ensure attainment of business line objectives
Partner with internal and external training providers to identify and coordinate employee skill development opportunities, focusing on credit and sales skills and product knowledge. Maintain knowledge of ongoing Compliance and regulatory mandates and ensure the team is educated and responsive to customer-related Compliance requirements
Utilize strong communication skills in situations ranging from human resource management to communicating to larger groups, including presentations to senior management; represent the Bank within the community by participating in various business, civic and service organizations
Requirements
5 - 8 years in business lending, financial services, bank branch operations management or retail sales management
Oklahoma market experience required
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field
Three years individual production experience in business credit
Advanced knowledge of business products and lending services
Proven track record of sales and outside calling skills
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
