Early Life: Ted Bishop was born as Theodore Francis Bishop in 1926 in New Jersey. His father, a World War I veteran, worked as a police officer and later joined the FBI as an agent. Ted attended George Washington University Law School, where he received his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1949. He then served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and later opened a law practice in Philadelphia.

Career: After his military service, Ted began practicing law in Philadelphia and soon became one of the most sought after attorneys in the city. He co-founded a law firm with another attorney and served on several boards at the time, including those of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. During this time, Ted also served as an assistant to U.S. Congressman Bill Green from Pennsylvania’s 3rd district from 1959 to 1961. After his political service, Ted returned to practicing law and was appointed by then-Governor William Scranton to serve as a special assistant attorney general for Pennsylvania from 1961 to 1965. In 1965 he was elected President of the Philadelphia Bar Association, becoming its first African American president since its founding in 1802. After his term finished, he continued practicing law until his retirement in 1996 at age 70. He passed away at age 93 on December 4th 2020 after a long illness

Early Life: Patty OBrien was born Patricia Ann OBrien on June 16th 1954 in Scranton Pennsylvania to Elizabeth (nee Carney) and William OBrien Jr., a truck driver for Popsicle Industries Inc..
